Department of Public Health and Environment Laboratory PA System
Scope of Work
This project involved the installation of an advanced audio and paging system at the Department of Public Health and Environment in Denver, CO. This project aimed at improving communication across the building for both everyday messaging and emergency alerts. The installation was carried out by High Country Low Voltage, with some components supplied by the customer.
Key features of the system include:
Central Control System: A new server that manages all paging functions, such as playing messages and scheduling announcements.
Power Amplifier: Equipment that boosts sound signals to power the facility’s speakers, ensuring clear audio across the building.
Emergency System Integration: The new system connects with the facility’s fire alarm and emergency systems for automatic notifications in case of an emergency.
Audio Inputs: The system allows multiple audio sources (such as microphones or music players) to be connected for different uses throughout the building.
For improved sound, the facility received new speakers, including:
Surface Mount Speakers: Replacing older speakers for better sound quality in certain areas.
Pendant Speakers: Hanging speakers installed in open ceiling spaces to ensure sound reaches every corner of the room.
Ceiling and Surface-Mounted Speakers: Installed throughout the building, with locations chosen in collaboration with the customer.
To make announcements, the system includes:
Desktop and Wall-Mounted Paging Stations: These allow users to make public announcements from different locations in the building.
Control Panel: A wall-mounted panel for adjusting the volume and selecting audio sources in specific zones of the building.
The system also includes safety features, such as sensors to monitor sound levels and ensure everything operates properly.
This upgrade greatly enhances communication across the building, improving both daily operations and emergency responses, and it offers flexibility for future expansion as the facility grows.
