Project Manager Job Description 

Growing Commercial AV company in search of a Project Manager. Must have experience and certifications for Crestron, Biamp, Qsys, Extron, and other manufacturers with field experience of at least 5 years. Qualifications

  • Must be self-motivated, positive, and organized individual with an innate ability to develop and implement processes for all parts of the project process. 
  • Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and ability to read, write, and give oral presentations within and outside of the company 
  • Must have a high level of ability to interpret system design, blueprints, and other project documents 
  • Must be able to travel within the territory as needed 
  • Must align with the company core values and be able to portray these values daily  
  • Must have 3+ years of management experience 
  • Ideally 2+ years of commercial construction experience 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 
  • Must be familiar and able to effectively utilize project-based accounting software for job costing and postmortem reviews 
  • Must be familiar with able to effectively utilize project management software (ex. Fieldwire, Procore, etc.) 
  • Must have demonstrated ability to manage projects from beginning to end with close attention to detail 
  • Must create a great customer service experience 

Core Responsibilities 

  • The Project Manager has overall responsibility for profit and loss on projects they are managing 
  • Responsible for overseeing the efforts of all project activities and personnel 
  • Review all project documents, including drawings, specifications, contracts, scope of work, and construction schedule 
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives including, but not limited to contractual, financial, technical, schedule, construction coordination, materials, personnel, and scope of work. 
  • Facilitate internal project kick-off meeting that includes key participants from sales, engineering, and installation 
  • Coordinate all in-house activities associated with project execution, including submittals, engineering, fabrication and installation, programming, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting. 
  • Create and Manage project plan and schedule 
  • Function as the focal point for internal and external project communication and documentation. 
  • Coordinate activities with general contractor, construction manager, owner and other trades as required. 
  • Generate and/or respond to construction communication including, but not limited to requests for information, change order documents, room readiness letters, delay or compression notification of theft or damage to materials, tools or vehicles, safety or injury reports, warranty information, material hand off or inventory, punch lists, field reports, sign-off documents or other documentation as assigned or required. 
  • Responsible to monitor job costing, gross profit, and customer satisfaction across all projects 
  • Coordinate turn-over and training of project, including all documentation required 
  • Understand Scope of Work clearly, monitor and issue Change Orders for any out-of-scope work 
  • Attend Quarterly and Annual planning meetings with input from the field that will enable great development of the company mission 

Daily Job Duties  

  • Run the Daily Team Call to ensure all technicians are prepared for the day and address any concerns or project related issues immediately 
  • Work with the Lead Techs to assist in any daily needs related to projects in process 
  • Ownership of the Project Management Software-Set up new projects, template tasks, template forms, manage users, train other members on usage 
  • Coordination and scheduling of engineering, programming, shop testing of project 
  • Attend any required jobsite meetings, submittal requests 
  • Coordination and submittals of any required insurance, safety plans, submittals, etc. to client 
  • Monitoring tracking of equipment, receiving equipment, and organizing equipment per project 
  • Set up and run Pre-Install meeting with Lead Tech for any multi day projects 
  • Set up and run Touch Panel submittal meetings if required 
  • Ordering of Wire, Cabling, and Additional installation materials needed from Lead technician wire pull sheet and labor plan 
  • Scheduling and ordering of all rental equipment and tools, tracking needs of rental equipment and scheduling call off or return of rental equipment 
  • Scheduling of all projects with clients and technicians 
  • Ensure all items for project are here and put together on job pallet prior to scheduled installation date 
  • Review Project Management Software and daily reports to identify any reoccurring issues, when identified work with techs to create processes that will resolve issues immediately and on an ongoing basis 
  • Keeping a pulse on job costing and hours throughout the duration of the project and notating all overages for Postmortem 
  • Review daily updates from field and immediately responding to any needs of the field to maintain the project schedule 
  • Creation and acceptance of Change Orders for any work that is outside of the initial scope of work 
  • Constant communication with client as needed to ensure transparency of the project to the client ensuring customer satisfaction 
  • Creation of Customer documentation folder on One Drive to include Submittals, As-Builts, Programming Files, and User Guides 
  • Set up Training and handover as required per project 
  • Respond to all internal and external communications with acknowledgement or response on the day of the request, from email, chat, or management software 
  • Oversee the project process from ordering to completion to ensure all processes are being followed, customers are satisfied, and technicians are happy with project management on a project basis 
  • Respond to Service inbox with acknowledgement and forward that request to project owner or engineer 
  • Address unforeseen issues or challenges that arise during the day 
  • Ongoing process development and scheduling for all tasks listed here and other aspects of the company’s operations
